Description

Ekim grow up in the slums and streets of downtown Amsterdam (The Netherlands), there he learned the cultural and musical aspects of what’s now called as streetsmart and streetwise.

This streetsmart/streetwise experience has had an enormous effect on the music he made in his later career. He used this experience playing in several soul and funk bands, playing the bass.

Early 80’s he made a career move and became Y-Me, a studio soundmixer. At the end of the 80’s, when the housescene was at a very high level, he changed name and went as EyE-C on tour through the UK and performed at several (illegal) houseparties in London, Bath, Swindon, Bristol.

During the 90’s he tranferred to Ekim and did quit a lot of Television recordings and productions. He also managed to record and produce the albums Sanctuary, Alive Again and Space.

Sometimes Ekim performs his mixing act on request, during special “private parties”, like a private party for 1000 people on a island at the coast of Croatia in the summer of 2003.

Meanwhile back in the urban jungle Ekim got older and wiser (yeah right!) and found himself back with a wife and a lovely daughter and basically gave up music. But as time passed, Ekim thought of getting back in the music bizz again. Shortly after this he met Zero V again and they’re ON.

As all good musicians, Ekim likes all good things in live, like sigs, booz and women.
